The Legal Situation

Fly Screens may be a legal requirement for hygiene in food preparation areas. The Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 state:

“windows and other openings must be constructed to prevent the accumulation of dirt. Those which can be opened to the outside environment must where necessary be fitted with insect-proof screens which can be easily removed for cleaning”.

The Products We Supply

Our fly screen systems are tried and tested. They are used extensively in commercial kitchens and food preparation areas and also in our homes. We have products to suit all types of doors and windows.

Most of our products have removable screens to help window access and cleaning or to be stored when not being used. We also install retractable Roller Screens using a discrete cassette to store the screen when not in use.

The products require a minimum of maintenance. The screens can easily be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. In the unfortunate event of the mesh being torn or damaged, the mesh can be replaced.

There is minimal if any light reduction to the room with our mesh which does give excellent outward visibility.

Flydor flyscreen systems are tried and tested by extensive use in commercial kitchen applications. We have designed specific systems for this such as the Eazy Slider and Premo Door. All systems are also suitable for domestic applications to windows and doors where flying insect control is required.
